CAID / Vante Press ReleaseSeptember 23, 2014
CAID Automation and Vante Now Using Robotic Solutions to Save Clients Time and Money, While Improving Yield
CAID Automation has designed an integrated robotic solution that automatically feeds catheter components into Vante thermo forming equipment. This manufacturing solution automatically performs the thermo forming process, unloads the completed catheters, inspects them using vision systems, transfers them to the next process and segregates out the rejected parts. This automation means that Vante’s customers no longer have to rely on an operator to manually load and unload the raw components into the equipment, thus resulting in a highly repeatable process that reduces manufacturing time, saves money, and improves quality.
“We are excited about the ongoing relationship between our two companies. CAID Automation and Vante are both committed to customer satisfaction and world‐class technology,” states Juan Cardenas, Vice President of Sales and Applications Engineering for CAID Automation. “And since we are both based in Tucson our companies can easily support each other on joint projects, especially during the debugging phase and FAT.”
Brent Fausett, President of Vante adds “With CAID Automation’s innovative designs, we can now offer turnkey solutions to our catheter manufacturing customers. Whether a company is looking to tip and weld a balloon catheter, or do a butt weld, taper and radius tips, tube flaring, IV tipping, or braid to non‐braid weld, we can now offer a fully automatic solution, where the catheter raw materials can be automatically fed, processed, inspected, and either packed or automatically assembled onto a medical device.”
